Welcome To Forgiven Ministries, Inc.
Lillian & Walter Beatty, Founders
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. We are a ministry dedicated to serving both Men and Women 18 years of age and older, who are currently incarcerated or have been recently discharged from federal, state, and local Department of Corrections. We hope that you will stay and learn a little more about what we do. Take a look around to learn more about who we are as a organization, our mission and vision for Christ, as well as information about how you can get involved in any of our events and our ministries. If you have any questions at all, we would love to connect with you. "Thanks so much!"
Building Individuals, Not Prisons
We believe in the power of God to change people. We help individuals with knowing who God is and how he can rebuild their lives through His Word. Forgiven Ministries strives to support successful reentry from incarceration and promote alternatives to incarceration, thus strengthening the fabric of our communities. An important step for successful reentry for formerly incarcerated individuals is building relationships. However, the difference between prison relationships and making friends in society is pretty extreme!
We believe that with greater understanding on both sides we can improve transitions by recognizing and addressing the challenges. Formerly incarcerated individuals and people who have never been to prison will understandably struggle with offering trust to each other. Some people will want to try to build a relationship with a formerly incarcerated individual and find they just can’t. Their fear is too strong, and everyone must respect that.
But for most people, starting a relationship with a formerly incarcerated individual - whether socially or at work – is like any other relationship. We learn about others while we learn about ourselves. As in our other relationships, trust is created little by little as we become more comfortable with ourselves, with the other person, and the environment we share
when we meet.

"Restorative justice is a process to involve, to the extent possible, those who have a stake in an offense and to collectively identify and address harms, needs and obligations, in order to heal and put things right as possible." – Howard Zehr, PhD, The Little Book of Restorative Justice, 2002
Intrinsic in the spirit and purpose of our organization is a sentiment that it is important to make a difference by serving others—it is only natural that our faith-based organization and other nonprofit organizations work together to achieve the good they wish the see in the community.
